Inside Line Promotions – PHILO, Ill. (Oct. 23, 2019) – Kyle Schuett achieved his goals and exceeded expectations in his first season behind the wheel of a winged sprint car.
Prior to the 2019 racing season, Schuett wasn’t sure what to expect for results as he prepared to race a 410ci sprint car after previously competing in midgets and micro sprints.
“Our goal going into the season was to win the MOWA Series Rookie of the Year Award,” he said. “While we were happy to win the Rookie of the Year Award, we were particularly proud to finish third in points. That was something I hadn’t really considered being able to accomplish.”
Consistency – a rare quality among rookies – was key to Schuett’s podium finish in the final standings.
“Prior to the season I was hoping to make all the MOWA shows,” he said. “We were able to make all of them except one when we had a mechanical problem early in the season.”
Schuett’s ability to qualify for main events wasn’t exclusive to MOWA Series events.
“While I had hoped to make all of the MOWA shows, I wasn’t sure if we would be able to make the A Main with the All Stars, World of Outlaws and IRA,” he said. “We were happy to make the show with all three of those series.”
Schuett noted that the season wouldn’t have been possible without great support from his sponsors.
“Health Alliance is our primary sponsor and it would be difficult to do this every week without their assistance,” he said. “Progressive Propane also gives us great support. They both take a huge weight off of our shoulders every week.
“AMSOIL provides us with many of the best lubricants on the market. Allstar Performance was a great help, as we got most of our parts from them. We also got a lot of great parts from DMI, which got them to us quickly.
“R & B Powder Coating did a great job for us, especially with their turn-around time. Rod End Supply has a great product and they got them to us quickly when we needed them.
“I think Hooker Harness are the safest belts on the market and they were great with servicing and replacing them. Steve Thomas Racing, which provided all of our safety gear, is just an hour up the road from us and had what we needed right away if we were in a pinch.
“Tim Engler of Engler Machine and Tool was a great help with the fueling on our engines and support throughout the year. It was also great to have Safety Kleen’s support with delivering their products to our shop and we appreciated the help our good friend, Tom Via at Roof Bolt Transport.”
