Inside Line Promotions – URBANA, Ill. (Feb. 26, 2019) – Kyle Schuett is shifting gears this year when he will make his 410ci winged sprint car debut.
Schuett, who has primarily competed in micro sprints and midgets, will tackle the entire Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Car Series season along with select starts with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions and IRA Sprint Car Series.
“It was time for a change and we felt like it was the perfect timing,” he said. “We’ve been talking about it for a year and finally pulled the trigger and did it.”
Schuett said his team will compete in approximately two dozen 410 sprint car shows centered around his home state of Illinois.
“I just want to gain experience,” he said. “I want to run well and feel competitive. I’d like to get some top fives and a couple of podiums, but basically getting laps under my belt is the first objective. We’ll make sure everything runs right and then we’ll see what happens after that.”
Schuett hopes to participate in a couple of practice days in late March before beginning his chase for the MOWA Rookie of the Year Award. The Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Car Series season begins April 5 at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., before a race the following night at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.
Schuett will also pilot a winged micro sprint for Runaway Chassis and Clay Doemelt 12-to-15 times. The duo scored a pair of feature victories last year.
“It helps to keep me fresh on off weekends,” Schuett said. “Clay wanted to have a car out there and I wanted to run a micro and it came together. We ran it last year and did well. Our goal is to win races.”
