Dupo, IL (August 8, 2017) Kyle Schuett may have had a slow start to his 2017 race season, but in the last few weeks, he has come on incredibly strong. Since making some changes to his program earlier this summer, Schuett has moved up the results column and now into Victory Lane. This past Friday night, Kyle earned his first career POWRi National Midget League A-main win and his second career midget win. It may have been a long time between wins, but Kyle and his team are focused on not letting it go that long again.
Schuett Racing loaded up and headed to I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri this past weekend to race with the POWRi National Midget League. This weekend of racing is held in conjunction with the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars and attracts cars and fans from across the Midwest. A premiere facility, I-55 never disappoints and this past Friday night was no exception. Starting second in his heat race, Kyle showed his speed early and picked up a heat race win. Based on passing points, Kyle lined up third in the 30-lap A-main event. As the green flag waved, Kyle passed pole sitter Tyler Thomas and jumped out to the early lead. Throughout the 30-laps, Kyle would be challenged, but never gave up the lead and went on to win his first POWRi main event. An extremely happy driver, Kyle thanked everyone who helped him get to Victory Lane including his parents and sponsors.
Saturday started much like Friday ended for Kyle and his #9K machine. Starting third, Kyle was able to pick up another heat race win. Unfortunately, Mother Nature would take over from there and the remainder of the program was rained out. A rain date is being considered at this time and will be one that Kyle and his team anxiously await.
Kyle and his Schuett Racing team would like to thank all of their friends and fans who have stood behind them this season and everyone who helped get them to Victory Lane. Jim, Kathy, and Kyle would also like to send out a big thank you to Jim Neuman and the Jake Neuman Racing team for all their trackside help and support. Being a small team has its challenges, but having friends and support from people like Jake Neuman Racing has been a blessing.
Schuett Racing would also like to send a big thank you to all the sponsors that make racing each weekend possible.
