Dupo, IL (July 23, 2016) Taking advantage of another off weekend in midget racing, Kyle and his Schuett Racing team rolled out their Sawyer Chassis micro sprint and headed to the Champaign County Fair. This is as close to home as racing gets for Kyle, and with friends and family in the grandstands, the young Philo, Illinois driver didn’t disappoint. Seventeen Speedway Motors POWRi micro sprints were on hand to provide a great race for fair goers and race fans.
In heat race action, Kyle started second and drove forward to pick up the heat race win. Based on passing points, this put him starting third in the A-main. Unable to move forward, racing against some other veteran micro sprint drivers, Kyle cruised to a third place finish. Parking the Schuett Racing/Health Alliance/AMSOIL Racing/Progressive Propane #9K on the frontstretch in front of his hometown crowd was definitely a night Kyle won’t forget.
Up next for Schuett Racing will be a return to midget racing with the POWRi series on August 5th and 6th when the POWRi midgets join the World of Outlaw sprint cars at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri. Last year’s race was one that had World of Outlaw drivers blowing up social media about the quality of racing and this year is likely to be the same.
Schuett Racing would like to thank everyone that came out Friday night to support the team and also thank all its sponsors for their support during this 2016 racing season - Health Alliance, Safety Kleen (The Official Environmental Service Company of Schuett Racing, Inc), Diversified Machine Incorporated (DMI), Smith Titanium, Max Pappis, DRC Chassis, Progressive Propane, AMSOIL, Hoosier Tire Midwest, Hooker Harness, Rod End Supply, Steve Thomas Racing, Keizer Wheels,Bergfield Farms, R & B Powdercoating J & K Property Rentals, LLC, and Illiana Insurance, a division of First Mid Insurance Group.
