Philo, IL -As the weather begins to warm up, so do things at Schuett Racing, Inc. In addition to running the full POWRi 600cc Outlaw Micro tour with their Shively-powered Boss Chassis, Schuett Racing will begin fielding an Esslinger-powered Spike at select POWRi National Midget series races. The team will be under the guidance of famed open-wheel car owner Ebby Bergfield of Arcola, Illinois. Bergfield mentored Springfield, Illinois native and NASCAR driver Justin Allgaier during his time in open-wheel racing and has also fielded cars for USAC Triple Crown champion Dave Darland, Josh Most, Shane Hollingsworth and Davey Ray.
“Our number one priority is obviously to our micro tour, but we definitely want to get the midget out a few times this year and learn as much as we can,” explained Jim Schuett. “Ebby will be a great mentor to the boys and brings a wealth of knowledge to our team.” More information to follow as to when the Schuett Racing Inc., Progressive Propane Inc., Illiana Insurance Agency LTD.-sponsored, Esslinger-powered Spike will be making its POWRi debut!
